In Predappio: Benito Mussolini's birthplace
Benito Mussolini's birthplace is located in Dovia di Predappio, a small town in the province of Forlì-Cesena, Italy. This stone house, situated at Via Varano Costa Nuova, 16, is where he was born on July 29, 1883. The ground floor housed his father Alessandro's blacksmith shop, while the family lived on the upper floor. Nowadays the Predappio Town Hall maintains the house, and it is often used for exhibitions, functioning as a museum and a tourist attraction linked to the area's tourism. These photos were taken in April 2026 and show some views of the Mercato dei Viveri square / Food Market square and the Benito Mussolini's birthplace. The Mercato dei Viveri square is a semicircular, arcaded square next to the main street of Predappio. At the far end, there is an opening offering a view of Mussolini's birthplace, and from there a staircase and a small path lead through a park to it. It is one of the buildings included in the town's Open-Air Museum.
