Plaque at the Parku Memorial «Të Pagjeturit»
According to the VETEVENDOSJE MOVEMENT / LËVIZJA VETËVENDOSJE , «on 17 June 2022, on the birthday of Professor Ukshin Hoti, on the campus of the University of Prishtina, a plaque was placed that inaugurates the Memorial Park “THE UNLOST” dedicated to those who were violently kidnapped during the last war in Kosovo by Serbian forces in 1998-1999. Saplings were also planted, with white ribbons placed on them in memory of our dearest citizens, whose fate we still know nothing about. Saplings take time to grow and to give a shadow to man. When the traces of war fade, students coming from all over Kosovo will be left with a memorial of trees of longing that the generations before them had for the loss of Professor Ukshin Hoti, and all the others.» Internationally recognized scientist and peace activist, Professor Ukshin Hoti, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the then-clandestine Democratic Republic of Kosovo led by President Rugova in the 1990s, was arrested by the Milosevic regime and disappeared on 16 May 1999 without a trace. These photos were taken in July 2025 and show the plaque at the Parku Memorial «Të Pagjeturit» and its surroundings.
