Stained glass window «With passion for a free Latvia»
The stained glass window «With passion for a free Latvia» is in the Cathedral Church of Saint Mary in Riga. According to the Museum of the Occupation of Latvia «in the early morning hours of 13 January 1991, Deputy Chairman of the Suprem Council of the Republic of Latvia Dainis Ïväns addressed the nation on Latvian Radio, inviting them to gather in Dome Square to show support for Lithuania, which had suffered the first human casualties after the military action of the URSS army. From that moment on, Dome Square became the main gathering place for the defenders of the barricades. In 2018, a stained glass window, «With Passion for a Free Latvia» (by Dzintars and Kriss Zilgalvji), was unveiled in St Mary’s Chapel overlooking the square». These photos were taken in May 2024.
