The Colchis Fountain in Kutaisi
The Colchis Fountain, located in the central square of of Kutaisi, is an iconic symbol of the region's rich historical and cultural legacy. It was created by Georgian architect David Gogichaishvili and opened in May 2012. The fountain, which features stunning bronze statues, represents the ancient Kingdom of Colchis, famed for its association with the myth of Jason and the Argonauts and the Golden Fleece. T It is adorned with 30 large-scale copies of the famous gold jewellery discovered at archaeological sites in Georgia, including the nearby Vani.
