The statue of Kirk Kerkorian in Gyumri
The statue of successful Armenian-American businessman, investor, and philanthropist Kirk Kerkorian (1917–2015), unveiled in June 2018, is located on Abovyan Street in Gyumri. The statue, donated by Gyumri-born, U.S.-based businessman Grigor Bediryan, was a way to honor Kirk Kerkorian for his charitable contributions to Gyumri, which were carried out through the Lincy Foundation. Kirk Kerkorian was an American businessman, investor, and philanthropist. He was the chairman and CEO of Tracinda Corporation, his private company based in Beverly Hills, California. Kerkorian was a major figure in shaping Las Vegas and, along with architect Martin Stern Jr., is described as the "father of the mega-resort". Of Armenian descent, Kerkorian provided over $1 billion for charity in Armenia through his Lincy Foundation, which was established in 1989 and focused particularly on helping rebuild northern Armenia after the 1988 earthquake. These photos were taken in August 2025 and show some views of the Kirk Kerkorian statue in Gyumri.
